Gregory John

President
Four Peaks Business Development Ltd.

Oki. Tansi. Bonjour. Hello – Gregory John is proud Metis business leader who brings passion and determination to everything he does. He is a passionate advocate for Indigenous inclusion in both energy and technology and is a regular guest speaker and lecturer, panelist, and contributor to discussions about the future of business in Canada. He holds a BComm in Finance and will receive his EMBA in 2024 – both from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.
He is the father of two companies, Four Peaks Business Development and UnimaIze Technologies Inc. whose purpose is to “Build and Share Indigitech across Turtle Island.” This Indigenous-owned technology company has received recognition across Canada and the globe in its infancy simply based on how this company is creating space for diversity, equity and inclusion in Alberta’s emerging technology sector.
Greg was recognized with a 2020 JWN Energy Rising Star Award where he was celebrated for his career contributions towards Canadian energy under the headline “Rising Star proud to be gay, Indigenous in industry that hasn’t always welcomed diversity.” He takes the recognition seriously when he talks about the role both Indigenous and LGBTQ2+ professionals have in technology, hopefully avoiding ever seeing that headline to describe the tech sector in Alberta.
Greg has always found power in sharing his authentic voice and experiences in corporate Canada and has found himself being asked to share his experiences, both personal and professional, across the globe. His powerful perspectives are published in two Business Case Studies for University public relations, communications, and business students out of Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Burnaby BC, as well as four University level Intro to Business and Human Resources textbooks.
In 2021, He was honored by being named a finalist for both the 2021 Global Energy Show Emerging Leader Award and the 2021 Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) ‘s Business Advocate of the Year. He sits on the 2022 IoT North Conference’s Executive Steering Committee and the 2023-2024 Global Energy Show Executive Steering Committee and is always excited to elevate and maintain space for building an inclusive innovation environment in Canadian Technology and Energy. He is proud to sit on the CGLCC’s Inaugural BIPOC Entrepreneurial Advisory Council.
